Six killed after being swept away in flash floods

Six persons were killed after being swept away in flash floods at five different places in Betul district triggered by heavy rainfall, officials said on Saturday.

The six deceased were among a total of 11 persons who were reportedly swept away last evening in the flash floods.

While four among those were rescued, one person was still missing, Town Inspector (Aathner), Manoj Kumar, said on Saturday.

The bodies of the deceased were fished out on Saturday morning while a search is on to trace the missing person, he added.
