New Delhi: Serena Williams has made it to her first final in two years when she beat Nicole Vaidisova in straight sets to enter the final at the Australian Open.
The American, ranked 81, fought her way through every point overcoming the strong challenge from her young opponent.
Vaidisova started the match well but could not really capitalise on her lead to lose the first set 7-5.
The Czech was down 1-5 in the second but clawed her way up winning three games and fighting off match points.
However, Serena was determined to finish it off and she finally won the semi-final 7-5, 6-4.
She will now take on top seed Maria Sharapova in the final.
The Russian had little trouble against Kim Clijsters.
Sharapova wrapped up the first set quickly and after that took the second set easily as well.
She won the match 6-4, 6-2 to reach her first Australian Open final.
