School correspondent accused of misbehaviour

TIRUPATI: Accusing the private school correspondent of misbehaving with her, a woman teacher staged a dharna in front of the school in Tirupati on Tuesday.She sought an unconditional apology from the correspondent and lodged a complaint with police.Y Vijayalakshmi (30), a mathematics teacher at Rayalaseema Public School at Bhairagipatteda, alleged that the correspondent V Surendra Reddy called her to his cabin on Monday around 11:30 a.m. and tried to molest her.She somehow managed to come out and narrated the incident to her husband. On Tuesday morning, the couple supported by women and student organisations gathered outside the school and staged a dharna demanding apology from Surendra.Based on a complaint, Tiruchanoor CI T Sainath registered a case and launched a hunt for Surendra who is at large.Meanwhile, in a surprise move, the MEO visited the school after the incident became public. The school was sealed after verifying the records, stating it had no permission.
