THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An eighth standard student of a private school here was allegedly beaten up by senior students and etched with the alphabet ‘J’ on his left forearm using a sharp weapon. A case has been registered in the Museum police station in this regard and according to the police, the investigation is on.The police said the senior students targeted the boy after he informed the school authorities of the malpractice that the senior students resorted to during the examinations. “The attack is an act of revenge and we are investigating the case. Sunday being a holiday, we could not go to the school. We will later take the statement from the school management, students and teachers regarding the incident,” said the Museum CI.According to the parents, the plus-one students of the same school allegedly assaulted the boy and threatened him not to inform anyone about this incident. The incident had allegedly occurred on February 16 and the boy’s parents lodged a complaint with the school authorities on February 18.Meanwhile, the school authorities said that the senior students had been identified and stringent action had been initiated against them. Earlier, the ADGP had ordered an investigation into the incident.
