Suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh, who was arrested on November 23 in the Saradha Group chit fund scam, was sent to six days police custody on Saturday in a fresh case of cheating by a local court.
The Barrackpore subdivisional 5th court of Parag Neogi remanded Ghosh in six days police custody in a complaint of cheating registered by a woman, Kalpana Sengupta, on April 23 at the Titagarh police station.
The police had sought remand for seven days. He was charged under sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 12B (crimnal conspiracy) of the IPC in the case.
Ghosh, the CEO of Saradha Group's media arm was given bail in the first of several cases registered against him on Friday.
