Rohini Karte is believed to be one of the hottest times of the year and generally records the maximum temperature. As per astrology, Rohini Karte marks the transition of the Sun into Rohini nakshatra. It is traditionally considered the hottest fortnight of the year. This year, Rohini Karte has fallen between May 25 to June 8. During this time, the heat intensity of the sun increases. Amid this, the Adilabad district in Telangana has been witnessing a heatwave.
In Adilabad, Telangana, people are suffering from the intense heat. They are reportedly falling sick, feeling suffocated and fatigued due to high temperatures recorded in the region. In the district, a red alert warning has been issued in about 20 mandals. Officials have advised people not to step out of their homes unnecessarily and to maintain utmost precautions.
Generally, temperatures recorded during Rohini Karte are 43 to 46 degrees. The highest temperature recorded in Bheemaram was 47.1 degrees. Meanwhile, the temperature was recorded at 46.9 degrees in Mancherial and Naspur and 46.5 degrees in Hajipur. On the other hand, in Arli, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Kagaznagar, Tiryani, Sirpur(T), Dasturabad, Kadam, and Khanapur.
People in Telangana are suffering due to the unbearable heat and it has become impossible to step out. The roads have become barren due to the rise of the mercurial levels and the city has begun to look like a curfew has been imposed. Despite a brief change in the weather with a cool breeze, the situation is back to the same. The people are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the monsoons and the rain spells to cool down the city.
Meanwhile, experts have been warning citizens across the country to take precautions from the heat by staying hydrated by eating fruits and vegetables that are cool for the body and consuming foods high in water content. People are advised to drink ORS, lemon water, and coconut water and eat cucumbers and seasonal fruits to avoid dehydration.
