TIRUCHY: Confusion over the release of Simbu-starrer ‘Osthi’ and cancellation of shows in city theaters led to protests by fans, who blocked traffic and stoned buses on Thursday.The fans who were waiting from the morning were disappointed when the theatre owners announced that the release had been cancelled.Unable to stomach the disappointment, the fans came to the road and started pelting stones on buses.Cantonment police arrested two fans Clinton (18) and Mubarak (18) of Marsingpettai.Earlier, the Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors Association had stated that they would not release the film since Reliance Entertainment, which marketed the movie, has sold the satellite rights of the film to Sun TV, which has been accused of not paying its dues to the theatre association. Contradicting announcements over the release had led to cancellation of the shows. Fans, who booked tickets a week ago, wanted to know when the film would be released.
