Provide security to Balineni: HC to state

HYDERABAD:  The AP High Court on Wednesday directed the state government to provide armed security cover to former minister and YSR Congress leader Balineni Srinivasa Reddy.Dealing with a writ petition filed by Balineni against the government’s action to withdraw security to him from April 10 onwards without assessing the threat perception, the High Court directed the government to continue security to the petitioner at his cost.It may be recalled that the High Court had earlier granted armed security cover to other former Congress MLAs who included G Srikanth Reddy, A Amarnath Reddy and K Surekha.
