BANGALORE: The High Court on Monday directed the State Government to provide pension to village accountants which was pending from 1979. A member of All Karnataka Former Village Accountants’ Association had filed a contempt petition in the High Court alleging that even after the court orders, the government had not provided the pension to village accountants.A division bench comprising Justice N Kumar and Justice Ravi Malimath hearing a filed petition by N V Srinivasa Murthy and others directed the government to disburse interim relief pension to the former village accountants who were eligible after checking proper identification and records.The government counsel further stated that the check was ready in the office and the eligible candidates could collect it, he stated.
