THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: During the first six months of this financial year, commercial banks in the state disbursed Rs 30,060 crore to priority sector. This is 52.49 per cent of the total disbursement target of Rs 57,271 crore for priority sector for the year 2011-12.  Out of the Rs 30,060 crore disbursed, Rs 15,429 crore was for agriculture sector, Rs 1,095 crore for secondary sector and Rs 13,473 crore to tertiary sector. The figures were presented at the 105th meeting of the State-Level Bankers Committee held here on Thursday.  T Sreekanthan, general manager, Canara Bank, and convenor of SLBC, presided over the meeting.  The meeting evaluated the performance of commercial banks in Kerala. The total deposits of the commercial banks touched Rs 1,75,949 crore, of which NRI deposits was Rs 41,719 crore. The total advances of commercial banks as on September, 2011, was Rs 1,34,635 crore. The total advances to priority sector as on September, 2011, was Rs 77,403 crore. The CD ratio of the commercial banks in the state was 76.52 per cent.  The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary K Jayakumar, P K Mohanthy, Additional Chief Secretary, Fisheries, Subrata Biswas, Principal Secretary, Planning and Economic Affairs Department, among others.
