Politicians with fake degrees 'dangerous' for democracy : Sharad Yadav
"Although our Constitution does not provide any specific qualification for a politician, yet education is always useful in life" Yadav said.

New Delhi: JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav today attacked politicians accused of having made false claims about their educational degrees, saying such public figures will be "dangerous and fatal" for democracy.

"I see that the people, who have obtained false degrees and are showing off their command over Hindi and English

languages, have entered politics. The standard of politics is diminishing day by day, which will prove to be dangerous and fatal for our democracy," Yadav said.

After AAP leader Jintendra Singh Tomar was arrested on charges of possessing fake degrees, allegations were made

against some leaders for making false claims about their educational qualifications.

A court has taken cognizance of a petition accusing Union Minister Smriti Irani of misrepresenting her academic

credentials.

Yadav wondered what message the young generation will take from these "so called politicians who start their career with false and lying" claims.

"Although our Constitution does not provide any specific qualification for a politician, yet education is always useful in life. But it does not mean that the so called politicians obtain false and fake degrees to show off, which is dangerous for our democracy," he said.
