PM greets nation on Eid, eve of Holi festivals
Manmohan Singh received a delegation of school children on the occasion of Eid.

New Delhi: Eid-e-Milad or Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi is being observed throughout the world today.

Traditional festivity and religious fervour marked festival which marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad.

The day is observed through prayers and recitation from the Quran.

Security arrangements have been heightened around mosques to prevent untoward incidents.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh conveyed Eid greetings to Muslims across India on Monday evening.

The Prime Minister also played host to some young visitors on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Milad.

School girls played a visit to the Prime Minister at his residence.

The PM and his wife were treated to a brief entertainment programme which included songs, and poem recitations by the students. Singh later thanked the children for having paid him a visit.

The Prime Minister has also conveyed his greetings to the nation for Holi, a festival of colours. Holi will be played on Wednesday, March 11.
