PM concerned over resurgence of militancy in Punjab
The PM has warned the SCPC some Sikh separatist leaders abroad may be trying to regroup themselves.

New Delhi: The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has written to the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, voicing concerns over a possible resurgence of militancy in Punjab.

The letter warns the SGPC that some Sikh separatist leaders in Canada, United Kingdom, Germany and Pakistan may be trying to regroup themselves.

The PM's letter is in response to a request by the SGPC to remove 200 Sikh leaders from a blacklist that prevents them from entering India.

Blasts last year in Ludhiana and Delhi were linked to Sikh separatist forces by the intelligence agencies.
