Plan to seek Jayalalithaas help

TIRUNELVELI: Alex Paul Menon’s father A Varadhas said he will seek the help of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to rescue his son.“I will meet the CM on Sunday and seek her help. I also urge the Centre to intervene,” he told Express over phone from Chennai, where he has gone for a medical check-up. V Lakshmi Priya, the Commissioner of Disciplinary Proceedings, Tirunelveli and a batch-mate of Paul, said,  “When he spoke to me four days ago, Paul said that the intelligence wing of Sukma district alerted him that the Naxals were targeting him.” The Government should evolve proper security policy for the welfare of the IAS officers, said Priya, who studied with Paul at an IAS academy. When the news of his abduction spread, a few of his friends visited his house at Tirunelveli, but it was found locked.  Mohammed Hussain, a close friend of the collector, said that Paul was a simple person.
