Barmer: A Pakistani woman, who recently got clearance from her country's High Commission to travel back to her home with son born in Jaisalmer, on Friday left the city for Jodhpur to board the Thar Express to Karachi.
Mai Fatima was earlier denied permission to go to Pakistan along with her son because the child's name did not figure on the parents' passport. But she and her husband Meer Mohammed recently met Pakistan High Commission officials and got visa for the baby.
Fatima, her son and relatives left Bamanpeer village of Barmer for Jodhpur where they are scheduled to board the Thar Express, Fatima's maternal grandfather Rasul Khan said.
Fatima was pregnant when she arrived Jaisalmer on February 22 to meet her mother after her father's death. She delivered a baby boy on April 14 at a private hospital there.
When she was returning back to Pakistan, the authorities reportedly refused to allow the family to cross the border at Munabao railway station in Barmer as the child's name did not figure on the parents' passport.
