VELLORE: A total of 38,854 students will appear for the plus-two board examination to be conducted in 119 centers on March 8 in the Vellore and Tiruppattur education districts. Two individuals, Perarivalan and Murugan, who are imprisoned at the Vellore Central Prison in connection with the Rajiv Gandhi assasination case, will also write the exams this year.An advisory meeting on the conduct of the examination in the district took place at the Venkateswara Higher Secondary School on Monday. Headmasters of higher secondary schools and members of the flying squads attended the meeting. While 8,923 boys and 10,472 girls will write exam in the Vellore education district, 9,192 boys and 10,267 girls will sit for the exam in the Tiruppattur education district. As many as 63 centers in Vellore and 56 centers in Tiruppattur were identified for the exam. This includes eight centres that were added this year. As many as 300 flying squads under the supervision of the Chief Educational Officer Pon Kumar have been formed to monitor the conduct of the exams. According to Pon Kumar, who chaired the meeting, action will be taken against the examiner if any malpractice was detected in exam halls.
