PUDUCHERRY: The Federation for Peoples Rights ,a Puducherry-based NGO, has resolved to picket the residence of V Narayanasamy, Minister of State, Parliamentary Affairs, Prime minister’s office, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension,here on November 22 to protest against his support to Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant.In a statement, secretary of the federation G Sugumaran said that at a meeting, held on Wednesday, resolutions were adopted objecting to the alleged provocation by the minister when he degraded the leaders leading the agitation against the nuclear power plant.Maintaining that nuclear power plants posed threat to life and property, another resolution was adopted seeking closure of all nuclear plants in the country.Citing disasters like Chernobyl, the meeting also condemned a move to establish more plants. Resolutions were adopted seeking public support in this regard.
