The huge $30-40 mn budget and high costs of filming on location are blamed.

London: Indian Summer the controversial film on the alleged affair between India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Lady Edwina Mountbatten, has hit a roadblock again amid concerns over the budget.

Movie bosses have reportedly stalled the project over concerns about the estimated $30-40 million budget and the added cost of filming on location in India, reported Empire magazine online.

The movie, to be directed by Joe Wright, has already been delayed once after the Indian government stepped in, asking to check the script to make sure Nehru was not portrayed in a negative light.

Officials gave the film the green light but production has been put on hold once again, amid rumours that the project has fallen victim to cuts at Hollywood's Universal studio.

Australian actress Cate Blanchett is slated to play the role of Lady Mountbatten in the picture, which was set to begin filming in India next year.
