Naveen seeks DFID aid

 BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday met UK Minister for DFID Andrew Mitchell in London to discuss  assistance to the State for development of urban infrastructure and spreading education among the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe girl students.The scheme will assist girls securing more than 75 per cent in Class VIII, IX and X. The students of Class VIII and IX will be given Rs 2,000 a month while those of Class X will be given Rs 2,600 a month. The State has sought an assistance of Rs 300 crore for the scheme and Rs 150 crore for development of urban infrastructure in the State.
