THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: NASSCOM executive council member V K Mathews on Friday said that it would sponsor some of the best Akshaya entrepreneurs and nurture them to become successful entrepreneurs. He announced this while addressing the 9th Akshaya Day celebrations. The 9th Akshaya Day celebration was inaugurated by K M Chandrasekhar, Vice-chairman, State Planning Board, at the Institute of Management in Government, here. The decision to nurture and mentor Akshaya entrepreneurs was taken when the NASSCOM executive council meeting was held here in September. Team Akshaya has been assigned with the responsibility to identify the most promising Akshaya entrepreneurs. “Though Kerala contributes only minutely towards the overall IT revenues of the country, its utilisation of IT for citizens is perhaps the highest and this is because of the awareness among people on the benefits of IT”. Akshaya has also played a key-role in minimising the digital divide and promoting entrepreneurship in the state. NASSCOM is therefore collaborating with Akshaya to identify the best entrepreneurs and nurture them to become successful IT entrepreneurs,” Mathews said. K M Chandrasekhar in his inaugural address expressed that Akshaya has a great role to play in the future but they have to proactively work in identifying the challenges in implementing strategies and create an effective process engineering methodology. State Planning Board member and founder Technopark CEO G Vijayaraghavan advised Akshaya entrepreneurs to continuously reinvent themselves and innovate to sustain their respective businesses. He also said that Akshaya should focus on areas of skills development and initiate creating self-help groups to develop synergy among the entrepreneurs across the state.
