THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two motorcycles that were involved in an accident at Devaswom Board Junction two days ago mysteriously reappeared at the accident site on Monday. The bikes were found abandoned on the roadside, according to residents in the area. The two motorcycles had collided on Saturday night at the same spot, injuring one of the riders. The bikes disappeared on Sunday after the accident. “Hearing the noise on Saturday night, some people gathered at the spot. Somebody called the 108 ambulance and the injured rider was rushed to the hospital. When I asked the other person I was told that his name was Vikram and he belonged to Bihar. On Sunday the bikes had disappeared from the spot. But they again reappeared on the spot,” said Dr Purushothaman Bharathy, a former editor with State Institute of Languages, whose house is near the accident site. However, when contacted, the Museum Police said that they had no idea about the accident. The traffic police said that an accident had been reported from the area on Saturday night, but no formal complaint had been filed by anybody. Consequently, the police too never registered a case. “We don’t take the vehicles into custody when there is no complaint,” the traffic police said. But the mystery in the ‘reappearing’ bikes continues to perplex the local people.
