BANGALORE: The high-level delegation
lead by Karnataka Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani is likely to
return to the city on Wednesday after a successful tour of USA to woo
investors for the 2012 Global Investors Meet. The tour included
visits to many industrial units and deliberations with various trade
bodies in the USA. The delegation visited Chicago International Produce
Market to study the cold storage systems, mechanisms to preserve fresh
perishable produce which includes fruits and vegetables and the
distribution network of stored goods to wholesalers and retailers. The
minister invited Kannadigas living in America to invest in the state at
a reception dinner organised by Kannada Koota at Chicago. The
minister offered to cooperate with San Francisco in IT, BT and R&D
sectors during his meeting with San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee.
