New Delhi: In more trouble for self-styled godman Asaram, the National Green Tribunal has directed demolition of illegal constructions at his Delhi ashram.
The ashram had received an MCD notice in September 2013 over alleged land encroachment. The Karol Bagh ashram is spread over 800 hectares and has been constructed in the ridge area. According to the Forest Department, no construction is allowed in the ridge area.
The MCD had also issued another notice for not paying property tax since 2004.
Asaram is serving a jail term for sexual assault on a teenage girl.
