BANGALORE: Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will observe its monthly Bus Day in the city on Monday, July 4.Additional buses will be deployed on certain corridors, which are: ITPL Route, Sarjapur Road, Hosur Roa, Bannergatta Road, Kanakapura Roa, Mysore Road, Magadi Road, Tumkur Road, Bellary Road, Thanisandra Road, Hunsur Road and Old Madras Road.
The BMTC have stated that they will deploy 100 extra buses to ensure the success of Bus Day. The transport corporation holds Bus Day on 4th of every month, wherein it plies extra buses on the routes used by IT professional to commute to and from office. The idea behind Bus Day is to encourage people prefer public transportation.The BMTC has, on different occasions, claimed that the Bus Day has proved to be a success. After a moderate response in the first couple of months, it has found takers with many people hopping on to buses, instead of their private vehicles.
