HYDERABAD: The temperatures are again peaking and there has been no rain for the last two days. After the recent heavy rains, Meteorological department officials say there has been a break in the south-west monsoon and it would take at least four days for it to become active again. The officials also said that the day temperature is likely to go up. The break in monsoon has increased the worries of farmers who fear their crops may suffer. However, officials concerned are still hopeful of a good rainfall in the coming weeks. The MeT officials said the situation is not favourable for farmers, however, rainfall would occur in many parts of the state in the next four days.“The monsoon trough was formed in the north and is moving from Ganganagar in Rajasthan to Patna and north Bay of Bengal. Under its influence, there was a break in the monsoon which will continue for the next four days. Light to moderate rains are likely to occur in many places in coastal Andhra and Tamil Nadu. But passing showers, that are active over all regions in the state, are not favourable for cultivation,” MeT officials said.
