BHUBANESWAR: Two days after a complaint was lodged against him for alleged abuse of students, T. Bharanavi, principal of a missionary school was arrested by police here on Monday.In fact, Bharanavi surrendered before the Court of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar, earlier in the day and was taken into custody. On Saturday, parents and guardians of the Kalinga Nagar-based school, on the city outskirts, had levelled charges of abuse against him stating that he exploited the girl students. With the police launching an investigation, he was under pressure and gave himself up on Monday morning.MYSTERY SHROUDS GIRL’S DEATH: A Class X student of a public school died under mysterious conditions on Monday. Sushree Mohapatra, student of a school located under Chandrasekharpur police limits, returned home complaining of uneasiness. When her condition deteriorated she was rushed to Kalinga Hospital where she succumbed.Sushree, police said, had taken a few Quinine tablets after she felt feverish and uncomfortable. The exact dosage of the medicine she took was not known immediately. Police which has registered an unnatural death case were trying to find out as to where the girl got the medicines from. Police said the exact reason of the death would be known only after post-mortem.
