Maoists blamed for explosion targeted at police party travelling in motorcycles; investigation starts.
Raipur: Seven policemen died when suspected Maoists blew up a landmine in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region, 350 km from the state capital.
The mine blew up near Jharghati in Narayanpur police district when a police party was travelling on motorcycles.
“Two police officers and five constables died," PTI quoted an unnamed police official as saying.
Police teams have reached the explosion site.
