MHA alerts states of communal flare up ahead of festive season

New Delhi: In view of the upcoming festive season, the Ministry of Home Affairs alerted states to ensure prevention of communal flare up especially in regions like Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

The MHA has also issued an advisory to prevent forcible installation of idols at disputed sites, slogan shouting against a particular community or communal incidents. Apart from this, the MHA has also asked state police to be vigilant for any incendiary material in the cyber space.

The Home Ministry has specifically warned Delhi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai and Baroda.
