BHUBANESWAR: A 22-year-old Merchant Navy sailor was found dead in a hotel room in Kharavela Nagar area on Thursday night. The cause of death has not been ascertained yet. The deceased, Bhabagravi Das, belonged to Kujang area of Jagatsinghpur. Das was staying in a hotel located along Janpath. During investigation, police found that he had checked in with a female, who was introduced as his wife. However, he was not married and the woman might have been his girlfriend. However, she was not to be seen since November 22. Police said, the sailor, who was earlier working at Chennai, was on his way to Mumbai for a new job. He checked in to the hotel on November 22. However, on Thursday, the hotel staff did not hear from him which led to suspicion. When Kharavela Nagar police was informed and the room was opened, Das was found dead. Police is trying to locate the female for more clues about death of Das. An identity card of a female has also been found and the photograph in it matches the description of deceased’s girlfriend. Details are awaited and a case has been registered.
