VIJAYAWADA: CPI state secretary K Narayana has said Assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar is not capable enough to run the House smoothly. Narayana on Thursday alleged that the speaker who made the Assembly a pen, was adjourning the House for the day following uproar by opposition parties.Even four days after the commencement of the budget session, the House had not transacted any business and no meaningful discussion had taken place, the CPI leader said.Speaking at a Jatha held in memory of CPI leader Dasari Nagabhushana Rao here, he said though the PRP was merged with the Congress, its MLAs are still sitting in the seats allotted to them when the party was in opposition.He demanded that the state government made the ACB report on raids on liquor syndicates public and reveal the names of liquor dons in the ruling Congress.On Polavaram project, he said the invitation of fresh tenders cost the state exchequer an additional Rs 1,000 crore. He blamed chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for the fiasco on Polavaram project tenders.The Jatha which began from Vijayawada, will reach Karimnagar, the venue of the three-day state convention of the party, on February 21. MLC J Wilson, CPI state secretariat member E Nageswara Rao, district CPI secretary A Vanaja, CPI city secretary K Subbaraju and other leaders were present on the occasion.
