HYDERABAD: A farmer from Krishna district was attacked by his son’s father-in- law on Wednesday, when he had come to attend the trial in a case.The attacker, a retired assistant engineer bore grudge against him for duping his family by concealing the marital status of his son during marriage to her daughter.Jagannath Rao had got his daughter Bindu married to Anil Kumar, who stays in Australia.Anil’s father, Sambasiva Rao is a farmer from Vuyyur in Krishna district.A couple of months after marriage, Anil went to Australia promising to take his wife after few months. Later, the girl’s family came to know that Anil was already married and stayed with his first wife in Australia. Bindu’s family then applied for divorce and lodged a domestic harassment complaint against Anil and his family members at Nacharam police station. Sambasiva Rao has been attending the family court located at RR courts complex in LB Nagar.On Wednesday, when Sambasiva Rao got down from the bus at Lakdi-ka-pul, Jagannath Rao attacked him with a sickle. The former suffered multiple injuries on the head while Jagannath Rao fled from the spot. Police rushed the victim to a nearby hospital. A history-sheeter of Mangalhat police, Abid-bin-Khaled alias Abid, a resident of Sitarambagh and historysheeter of Bhavani Nagar police, Mohammed Faraz Khan alias Farza of Bhavani Nagar were held near Sitarambagh bus stand on Wednesday.Police said Abid and his associates were involved in a murder and he is facing threat to his life from his rivals.“In 2008, Abid and his gang killed a person, Shaik Firdous and in retaliation the rival gang killed Abid’s associate. Abid was externed for six months which ended in December last year. He is also involved in two murders and several other cases,’’ additional DCP (Task Force), Suhas Chaturvedi said.Farza was involved in robbery and other cases. “The duo procured ganja and also bought four daggers and were found carrying them,’’ police said
