Man Dies After 120-Foot Jump From Dabhosa Waterfall In Maharashtra; Friend In Critical Condition

A tragic incident unfolded at Dabhosa waterfall in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Sunday, where a 24-year-old man lost his life after jumping from a height of 120 feet into the plunge pool. His friend was critically injured in the incident.

The video of the man, identified as Maj Sheikh, and his friend, Joef Sheikh, jumping from the cliff has been circulating widely on social media platforms.

According to a police official, Maj and Joef, along with one more friend from Mira Bhayandar, visited the Dabhosa Falls in the morning. Two of them jumped into the plunge pool out of thrill.

Joef managed to emerge from the plunge but sustained critical injuries to his waist, legs, and neck. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Inspector Sanjaykumar Bramhane of Jawhar police station said that the water levels were low in the plunge pool, indicating a possible factor in the accident.
