COIMBATORE: Three members of a family, including a 26-year-old woman, suffered severe burns in a fire triggered by a leaking LPG tube, in the wee hours of Wednesday at Neelambur here. Two members of the family, Radhakrishnan (55) and Rani (50), suffered 80 per cent burns and are battling for life at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. Their daughter Kavitha suffered 50 per cent burns and is undergoing treatment in the same hospital.Police sources said the house was filled with gas overnight and the accident happened around 5 am when Radhakrishnan tried to light the stove.“The house does not have any ventilation and the gas spread to the adjoining room, where the family members were sleeping. The flames spread to the next room, injuring them,” police said.The Sulur police have registered a case.
