Yogi proved his acting prowess in his multi-starrer film 'Hudugaru', which also featured Puneeth Rajkumar.

Yogi proved his acting prowess in his multi-starrer film ‘Hudugaru’, which also featured Puneeth Rajkumar and Srinagar Kitty. He is now teaming up with Puneeth again in ‘Yaare Koogadali’, a remake of Tamil flick ‘Porali’.

“It is good to be working on a great project. I feel proud that I've been asked to be part of this team again. This film is special to me,” he says. The actor, needless to say, is excited to be working with Puneeth again. “I thoroughly enjoyed working with him in ‘Hudugaru’. There was a lot of fun on the sets. We kept pulling each other's legs. It was an amazing work environment to be replicated again,” he says.

He is also happy that Tamil director Samuthirakani is helming the remake. “He was supposed to direct ‘Hudugaru’. But, he was unable to do as he was busy with another project. It is good that the director who has done the original will also do the remake. He knows what he wants. There will be minor changes in some scenes and dialogues to adapt the film to Karnataka,” says Yogi.

He will start shooting for the film from June 25.

His next release is ‘Kalaya Tasmai Namaha’, a love story of a contract killer. “Stories based on similar subjects are common. But, this script is quite amazing and definitely different from the other 'rowdy' films. Though Yogi was appreciated for his subtle performance in ‘Siddlingu’, he is more popular for his rugged characters. “Since I entered the Kannada film industry with a rugged character in ‘Duniya’, fans associate me with similar charcters. I like to see myself in roles liked by my fans,” he admits.

Yogi is as busy as a bee with several films on hand. “I have about five to six movies lined up and this will keep me occupied till the end of December,” he says. He is giving around 60 days to each film. “I don’t believe in wasting time. I don't mean to say that films made over a year are not good. I simply don’t like to sit with one film. Time and age does wait for us. We have to be on our toes all the time. More movies mean that I have an opportunity to experiment with more roles," he explains.

He feels that there are several movies coming of Sandalwood but the films are not getting sufficient publicity.

“There was a time when there was no television. Movies were the only source of entertainment and it was accessed only through theatres. Now we are competing with hundreds of serials and every household has a cable connection.

Hence, movies can be accessed at home now. People need to be lured out of their homes to watch films in theatres and for that we need to have good publicity. It matters a lot for every film and for every actor,” he signs off.
