BANGALORE: The ten-day Legislature session scheduled to begin from January 30 is expected to go smooth, opined Legislative Council Chairman D H Shankaramurthy on Tuesday. He said that the session would begin with key address from Governor H R Bhardwaj. Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah and he invited the Governor to address the session. Recalling the fiasco dring last year’s session, he added, Governor had assured that Opposition promised to cooperate this year.“Around 364 out of 440 questions were starred and would be taken up during the question hour.”  Questions that receive written answers during the Question Hour would be tabled in the house. The Council secretariat received 16 notices under rule 374 and another 16 notices under 336 rules pertaining to various issues.Shankaramurthy said the house would review the Karnataka Panchayath Raj (Amendment) Bill 2007 and discuss Sahyadri Heritage Development Authority Bill 2011 and the Karnataka Janapada Vishwavidyalaya Bill 2011. “The Karnataka Municipalities Bill and Law Bill 2011 would be introduced during the session.”Assembly secretariat received over 650 questions from members pertaining to different departments to be raised during the question hour. He said that the house would take up obituary references of ministers who had passed away recently, before adjourning the session.
