Lay down procedure for selection

HYDERABAD: Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday wanted chief secretary Pankaj Dwivedi to lay down a procedure for selecting the best candidates for the Human Rights Commission or Information Commission.naidu rang up the chief secretary this morning and discussed the selection process of officers for SHRC and Information Commission.In a letter to the chief secretary, he said the selection of members of SHRC and Information Commission was not being done in transparent manner with due focus on honesty and sincerity.The whole exercise is to get the approval of the predetermined candidates by the government without following due procedure and process of consultation, Naidu contended.The notices were issued till now, including recent one for selection of SHRC chairperson, without enclosing names of probable candidates and their qualifications, Naidu said.“Even when we requested for advance information about the candidates’ eligibility, we did not get any response,” he said.
