'Law Equal For All, No One Will Be Spared': Eknath Shinde's First Remark On Pune Porsche Crash
'No matter how rich or poor a person is, the law is equal for all and no one will be spared. I have ordered strict action,' Shinde stated

In his first comments on the Pune Porsche accident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday said that nobody would be spared and that strict action had been taken.

“No matter how rich or poor a person is, the law is equal for all and no one will be spared. I have ordered strict action,” the Maharashtra Chief Minister stated.

Shinde also stated that he has been in contact with the Pune police commissioner since day one.

“I have been in touch with the Pune police commissioner since day one. I have said right from the beginning that, irrespective of how influential the person is, there should be no discrimination,” he added.

According to an NDTV report, the Maharashtra CM personally instructed the Pune police commissioner to hold everyone accountable, including doctors or anyone else.

“The two people who have died are also someone’s children. Strict action will be taken against all guilty people in this case. Their background will also be checked. I have personally told the police commissioner to spare no one, whether it is a doctor or anyone else,” he said.

Shinde’s comments followed Congress’ Maharashtra President Nana Patole’s call for the resignation of the chief minister and his deputies, alleging a nexus between the police, politicians, and affluent individuals in the state.

The Pune crash case, which has sparked nationwide outrage, involving the 17-year-old teenager who drove the speeding Porsche and caused the deaths of two software engineers on May 19, has taken a new turn with the arrest of two doctors and an employee of Pune-based Sassoon General Hospital in connection with the alleged manipulation of the blood sample of the juvenile driver.

Pune Police arrested Dr. Ajay Taware, head of the Sassoon Hospital’s Forensic Medicine department, Dr. Shrihari Halnor, the chief medical officer, and staff member Atul Ghatkamble, who works under Dr. Taware. They were remanded in police custody until May 30.

The police also filed a case against the minor’s father and grandfather — Vishal Agarwal and Surendra Agarwal — for the ‘illegal confinement’ of their driver.

According to the police, both the father and grandfather pressured the family’s driver to take the blame for the accident by offering him money and making threats.

The duo were charged under sections 365 (kidnapping) and 368 (wrongfully concealing or keeping in confinement) of the Indian Penal Code.
