Demanding immediate sanctioning of funds to the Ernakulam KSRTC depot for the maintenance of the buses, the Kerala State Road Transport Employees Association staged a dharna in front of the Ernakulam ATO office on Friday.
The members, who belong to the Left wing of the KSRTC, accused the ATO of siding with the Right wing unions and providing them with more opportunities at the staff level. However, the ATO denied this. The other demands of the members include immediate action against officials who showered abuses on employees, the ATO’s office function without any biases based on political affiliations, to provide the spare parts to the depot, and stop cancelling of bus services.
“This is causing huge problems to running the services on time,” KSRTEA district general secretary T P Venu said.
