SABARIMALA: The KSRTC Pampa station has set a record by carrying 11 lakh pilgrims from the station during the Mandalam-Makaravilakku season till December 10. Talking to the Express, KSRTC Pampa special officer Easter Yashica said that the KSRTC buses carried an additional number of 2.10 lakh pilgrims over the same period during the last season.Easter Yashica said that the revenue generated at Pampa station stood at an all-time high of Rs 2.25 crore during the period ending December 10 during the ongoing season as against Rs 1.75 crore, showing an increase of Rs 75 lakh. Long Route ServiceYashica said the KSRTC operated a total number of 7,337 schedules during the period under review as against 6,560 schedules during the corresponding period last season.“Of this, Chengannur station operated an aggregate number of schedules at 1,695, followed by Kottayam 985, Kottarakkara 840, Erumely 663, Thiruvananthapuram 620, Pathanamthitta 516 and Erankulam 495,” Yashica said. “Regarding Pampa-Nilackal, the aggregate number of schedules operated during the period under review stood at 10,737 as against 8,949 schedules during the corresponding period during the last season,” Yashica said. “The record increase in the schedules stood at 1,788,” he said.
