Youth Congress worker Kanishk Majumdar was arrested on Thursday night after he rammed his car into a police post, then a taxi and then hit a person on footpath in Kolkata.
Majumdar tried to flee the scene but was chased down by a senior Police officer from Bokaro who was travelling on the same route in his personal car.
He could not provide valid car documents and other related documents including his driving license when he was held.
He claimed that it was his driver who was behind the wheels. However, he could not provide details to prove the same.
Majumdar was travelling from Kasba to Gariahat area when the incident occurred. He has been arrested by the police for rash driving. The charges against him are bailable.
