HYDERABAD: A five-year-old student, who was kidnapped a fortnight ago, from Suraram colony, was reportedly murdered on Wednesday. According to police, Venkatesh, son of Ramesh, an employee working with a private firm and a resident of Suraram colony was kidnapped in the afternoon of March 17, when he went out of his house to play. Venkatesh was studying LKG in a local school. On March 18, the boy’s parents lodged a complaint with Dundigul police and a missing person’s case was booked. Within a few hours after the case was booked, Ramesh got a ransom call and the kidnappers demanded `2 lakh to release Venkatesh. After kidnapping the boy, Ramesh received many ransom calls and suddenly the kidnappers stopped communicating a few days ago. While family members were looking to the police for help, interrogation of their neighbour revealed that the boy was murdered and buried in Suraram colony. Dundigul police are investigating the case. Police said that they had some clues in the case and suspected that the boy could have been murdered. We will start digging, now that we have received information that kidnappers have killed the boy and buried the body in Suraram colony,” police said.
