KARAIKAL: The newly constituted Karaikal Development Coordination Committee has indicated that Rs 640 crore would be needed to implement various development projects in Karaikal district.Speaking to reporters, VMC Sivakumar, chairman of the committee, after discussions with the officials of health and education departments, revealed that in the case of development of infrastructure, priority would be accorded to education and healthcare sectors. All steps would be taken to ensure rapid economic development in the district.Sivakumar added that the committee would send a report to the Puducherry Chief Minister seeking Rs 640 crore.
