CHENNAI: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa dropped two Ministers — Agri S S Krishnamoorthy and S P Velumani from the State Cabinet and inducted N R Sivapathy (AIADMK MLA from Musiri Assembly constituency) and Mukkur N Subramanian (AIADMK MLA from Cheyyar Assemly constituency).The State Cabinet has been reshuffled for the sixth time during the past eight months. The new ministers will be sworn in by Governor K Rosaiah at a function at Raj Bhavan on January 27.The reshuffle of the Cabinet has taken place within nine days of shuffling of portfolios of Krishnamoorthy and Velumani. For Sivapathy, it is his second innings as a minister. Before he was dropped on November 4, Sivapathy was looking after Animal Husbandry.Now, Sivapathy will be the Minister for School Education, Sports, Youth Welfare, Tamil Official Language and Tamil Culture. Krishnamoorthy was looking after these portfolios since January 18. Mukkur Subramanian will take over as the Minister for Information Technology.Sengottaiyan’s portfolio has been changed for the third time. He will be assuming charge as Revenue Minister and will look after Revenue, District Revenue Establishment, Deputy Collectors, Weights and Measures, Debt Relief including legislation on Money Lending, Chits, Registration of companies. Originally, Sengottaiyan got the Agriculture portfolio and was later made Minister for IT.
