Jacko voted America's 'Most Foolish'
Americans crowned faded pop star Michael Jackson as the America's Most Foolish Individual of the year 2006 in the Seventh Annual April Fool's Day Poll.

New Delhi: Michael Jackson wants to be on the top of the charts. He is on the top, but as America's Most Foolish Individual of 2006.

Americans gave the faded pop star the top dishonour in the Seventh Annual April Fool's Day Poll. Jackson, who got the title for the fourth consecutive year, defeated US Vice President Dick Cheney by a narrow margin in a random telephonic survey of 1,045 people

A whopping 69 per cent of those surveyed said the singer had "done something foolish" in the past year.

The second spot in this year's survey ended up as a tie between Cheney, who recently shot a friend in the face during a hunting trip, and socialite Paris Hilton, who bagged 59 per cent votes each.

And, for those of you wondering what happened to Dubya, well, he hasn’t lost out as well.

US President George Bush came in third in the survey, with 57 per cent votes.

Incidentally, five years ago, in the 2001 April Fool's Day survey, Bush received a foolishness rating of only 48 per cent, meaning that, statistically speaking, Americans believe he has become 19 per cent more foolish since then.

In fourth place was a newcomer to the survey, couch-jumping actor Tom Cruise, with 54 per cent of the country believing he has acted foolishly in the past year.

Falling off a horse was not sufficient to get the singer Madonna into the top rankings; she merited a foolishness quotient of only 32 per cent this year.

According to the survey, 50 per cent of Americans admitted that they themselves had done something foolish, down from a high of 64 per cent in the previous year's survey.

Tell us: Who you think is the most foolish Indian.

What's your reaction?
