India and the US on Thursday agreed that all terror networks, including al-Qaeda, Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad and D Company must be defeated.
Both the countries strongly condemned July 27, 2015 terrorist attack in Gurdaspur and August 5, 2015 attack in Udhampur and asked Pakistan to bring to justice the perpetrators of the Mumbai terror attacks.
The countries recalled the signing of the US-India Counterterrorism Cooperation Initiative (CCI) and establishment of the Homeland Security Dialogue in 2010, as well as India's membership in the Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF).
The sides appreciated the intense engagement between India and the United States under various institutional bilateral dialogue mechanisms and people-to-people contacts.
They welcomed India's announcement to hold a regional Pravasi Bhartiya Divas (PBD) in Los Angeles in November 2015, to further increase people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
Both the sides assessed that ties between the US and India have never been stronger – as reflected by unprecedented strategic cooperation, record levels of bilateral trade and investment, and more than 2 million annual visits between their citizens, students, and entrepreneurs.
