India gets genetic test facilities

CHENNAI: Neutrigenomics Australasia, in association with Kochi-based Wellness Solutions, on Wednesday, launched ‘GeneCare’, a genetic testing service, claimed to be a first of its kind in India.The testing, which would be done by medical practitioners would allow physicians to utilise breakthroughs in genetic research to improve patient outcomes.Michael Carter, Trade Commissioner for Australia to Southern India, said that there are tremendous opportunities for joint ventures and collaborations in the field of healthcare between the two countries.
