The writer-director claims to have more fun working with new comers

Mumbai: Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who worked with fresh faces in Dev D, says he prefers working with newcomers because they are hungry for perfection.

"I never run after stars. I keep looking for good talent because it's fun working with newcomers. They are hungry for perfection and give their soul to their work. They will go to any level. They don’t have any ego and they submit themselves to the film," Kashyap, 37, told reporters.

He was here to launch a talent portal called 'Tumbhi' that will provide a platform to budding artists to showcase their skills. He will mentor fresh talents. "It's my uncle’s company. I'm part of this company and my ideas are involved in this. I’m involved at the conceptual stage," he said.

"I will focus on short films. There are other people who will be involved with other things. I'll mentor talent who want to make films."

Kashyap has made films like Black Friday, No Smoking and Dev D, among others, and most of them had lesser known actors.

So, would he ever like to work with stars?

"I would love to work with big stars. In fact, for one of my films I am looking at that. It's just that I sometimes feel scared that if I work on a big film, will I be able to make the kind of film I want to as a lot of money is involved," said the filmmaker.
