HYDERABAD: In a bold stride to rise above the cluttered calender of the Indian Fashion industry, the Signature “World of 8 International Fashion Tour” showcased the best and the most creative elements of International fashion capital, Paris, in the city of Nawabs.Ambience, flamboyant cuts and designs by renowned International and Indian designers with a blend of “bold and the beautiful” fashion enthusiasts created a retreat for fashion lovers in the city.Eight cities, right designers and eight international models— a new concept started by Signature in association with United Spirits Limited was created to bring uponinternational platforms in budding fashion hubs.Engaging the stage were international designer Kevin O’ Brian and Indian designer Manav Gangwani, and Miss France Malika Menard and Bollywood actor Zayed Khan were the showstoppers.Talking about the collection, Kevin O’ Brian showcased about 30 pieces, a few from his previous collection in colour which was then followed by an entire collection in white, made of organza and lace and the idea behind all this according to him was to always make a new start in a new place.In contrast to Kevin's white collection, Manav Gangwani showcased his “Black Magique” collection, symbolising Indian women.The silhouettes strung together in this collection ranged from anarkalis to churidars, kurtis, gowns and also saris to bring in that Indian tinge.The fabrics used were velvets, satins, tulles, georgette, antique laces and brocades.These were complimented with rich embroidery.“Season of White”I t wa s P a r i s - b a s e d International designer, Kevin O’ Brian’s first visit to India and the Hyderabad. “I am in love with the city and the people in just a day.I am very much surprised with their warm and welcoming gesture.And the best part is that, it is full of life and colours,” he said.On Indian women, he says, “They are beautiful, charming, elegant and every designer's dream, as they have expressive eyes. I would love to design for Aishwarya Rai one day. She is fabulous.” “I would love to work for Bollywood”A law student with handson experience of journalism, Miss France Mallika Menard says her experience in the city has been great. “I saw the Buddha statue. I think it is very beautiful and I also love Charminar because it is so lit up and bright.” She is also fascinated by Bollywood.“I would love to work in Bollywood. But, I am bad at dancing,” she says.
