Hyderabad blasts: Investigators prepare intial report
According to the investigating team the role of a new terrorist group can't be ignored even though there is not much information or evidence.

New Delhi: Investigating agencies have submitted the initial report in the February 21 Hyderabad twin bomb blasts to the Home Ministry. According to the investigators a new terror group could be behind the blasts in which 16 people were killed and 117 others injured.

According to the investigating team the role of a new terrorist group can't be ignored even though there is not much information or evidence. The CCTV footage has been sent to the Mumbai to improve its quality.

Meanwhile, the proposal for setting up the National Counterterrorism Centre too has gained momentum following the Hyderabad blasts and soon it may be brought to the Cabinet Committee of Security.

According to the sources, now the government is ready to remove two controversial proposals which had been opposed by many state governments. The NCTC would not be under the purview of the Intelligence Bureau and it cannot make an arrest without the approval of state governments.

The blasts at Hyderabad's Dilsukh Nagar were triggered by Improvised Explosive Devices(IED) tied to two bicycles took place in the peak hour at two sites 100 to 150 metres apart outside a roadside eatery near Konark and Venkatadiri theatres in the area located on the Hyderabad-Vijaywada national highway in Cyberabad police limits.

The twin blasts, described as dastardly by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, triggered a stampede-like situation with people trying to scamper for safety as it left a bloody trail. The scene wore a gory look with severed body parts lying around. Footwear and various other objects were also seen indicating the desperation of the victims and the injured to flee the spot.

The Dilsukh Nagar area is thickly populated and traffic jams are routine in the evenings with officegoers and students rushing home. Large numbers of people wait at the numerous bus shelters, eateries and shops in the area.
