BANGALORE: HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd (HCG), on the occasion of World Environment Day and Cancer Survivors Day has pledged to adopt, develop and maintain a park at Sampangiram Nagar, as a tribute to the cancer survivors for their relentless pursuit to make cancer manageable.
N A Harris, MLA, Shantinagar, who inaugurated the event, appreciated the cause and said more hospitals and firms in the city should come up with such initiatives to save our environment. He added, such programmes were motivating and in future many firms should take up such actions. Speaking about the initiative, Dr Ramesh Bilimaga, medical director, HCG, said, "Maintaining a park gives us an opportunity to serve the local community and help them live in a healthy environment. Regular yoga sessions laughter club at the park will be a part of the initiative. We will be naming the park as HCG BBMP Cancer Survivor's Park once it is approved from the BBMP. A tribute for the living, the park will be a daily reminder that cancer doesn't mean death."
